NMN - Laminates
Processing of NMN - Laminates
- Insulation class F (up to 155°C); NKN H (up to 180°C)
- three-layer insulation made of polyester or polyester film with Nomex layer applied on both sides
- very good chemical resistance to solvents
- high volume resistivity
- high dielectric strength
- also available as two- or four-layer material
- weights per unit area can be found in the data sheet
brands available from us:
Flexiso®, Isonom®, Trivoltherm N®, Triflexil NMN®.
NMN flexible laminates
The flexible laminate NMN - (Mylar Nomex Nomex) - is made of a polyester film coated on both sides with Nomex meta-aramid paper.
The polyester film provides good electrical insulation, while Nomex® provides excellent tear resistance, resin absorption and thermal insulation.
Depending on the thickness of the paper layer laminated with Nomex, four families are defined:
NMN laminates with 50 micron Nomex
The common and most widely used family is 50 microns thick.
NMN laminates with 80 micron Nomex
For demanding applications where an increase in the thermal insulation layer is required, 80 micron Nomex is used.
NMN laminates with 130 micron Nomex
For the most demanding applications, 130 µ Nomex is used.
And finally for less intensive applications, where first class performance can be achieved with absolute certainty by using layers of Nomex paper with a thickness of only 37 microns.
Dr. Müller as your contact for NMN parts
When it comes to NMN, we are the right contact. You can buy NMN in rolls, sheets or machined parts from us.
We stock NMN in various thicknesses. We have NMN sheets up to a thickness of 1.4 mm in stock. We also have rolls in stock from a thickness of 0.09 mm.
Adhesive tapes made of NMN
NMN is also supplied in self-adhesive form, e.g. as adhesive tapes. These can be equipped with various adhesive systems.
NMN in the form of stamped parts
NMN is processed in large quantities into insulating parts, seals and washers using the stamping manufacturing process.
Laser processing of NMN
The laser processing of NMN can be carried out with either a 10.6 µm or a 9.3 µm CO2 laser.
Laser cutting of NMN with a CO2 laser produces a clean cut with minimal discolouration.
Laser marking of insulating paper with a CO2 laser produces a non-removable surface mark with no depth, which can be either lighter or darker depending on the material being processed.
Laser engraving of NMN produces both depth and contrast, depending on the material being machined, and is limited to the thickness of the material.
Applicable laser processing methods for NMN

NMN sampling
For sampling, you can obtain small sections of NMN from us free of charge. Larger NMN samples are available at a charge and will be credited to you later when you purchase NMN parts from us.
NMN data sheets
You can download data sheets for the material NMN by clicking on the PDF symbols. Here you can see the characteristics of the material, such as the temperature resistance or the chemical resistance as well as the dielectric strength.
