Structure:
Nomex 410 is a synthetic electrical insulation paper consisting of a calendered, aromatic polyamide-fibrid-flock composition.
Property:
Nomex is an insulation material of class h (180°c). Temperatures up to 200°c have only a minor effect on its electrical properties. The good mechanical properties can be extrapolated from considerably higher temperatures. Due to its polymer structure, Nomex 410 can be used very well at low temperatures up to 190°c. It has a high short term dielectric strength. However, the continuous field strength should not exceed 1.5 kV/mm. Nomex 410 is compatible with all classes of common resins, paints, adhesives as well as transformer fluids, lubricating oils and coolants. Common solvents can cause slight reversible swelling. Nomex 410 is flame-retardant (ul94v-0) and has a very high beta and gamma radiation resistance.
Application
Nomex 410 is used in practically all known applications for electrical surface insulation materials. The application ranges from AC and DC motors to large generators, liquid and dry transformers and chokes, even under beta and gamma radiation.
